Maisha Tele, Swahili for “full life,” is a program focused on empowering women.
By partnering with individual entrepreneurs to help them expand their existing businesses, as well as provide new work opportunities to broaden their skill-sets, we have seen many women financially sustain their families on a consistent basis.
In 2011, we began our first empowerment group with six women. Each of our artisans attended classes and received one on one training from local professionals. After completing their classes, they began creating high end, hand-made jewelry, with materials sourced from local markets to sell locally and internationally through R.A.H.
Over the years, we have had several workshop locations within Nairobi. We currently partner with individual artisans that create and operate out of their own spaces and local markets. We look forward to reopening our Maishi Tele workshop in 2020 to house new and existing artisans.

Since 2011, Redeeming Africa’s Hope has partnered with Strong Tower Church in Kawangware, Kenya, to provide nutritious meals, creative activities, biblical teaching, and an abundance of laughter and love for the children of the community each week. Karibu Nyumbani, Swahili for “Welcome Home,” embodies the heart behind our feeding program.
Our desire is that every child who walks through our doors feels seen, celebrated, valued, and loved—as if they were coming home to family. While a warm meal is an important part of what we provide, our greater hope is to create a place of belonging where children experience the love of God through genuine relationships, encouragement, and community.
At Redeeming Africa’s Hope, we believe family is not defined by shared DNA, tribe, or nationality. We are all created by God and deeply loved by Him. Scripture reminds us that God “sets the lonely in families,” and we are committed to living out that truth by opening our hearts and our arms to every child who joins us.
Through Karibu Nyumbani, we seek to cultivate an atmosphere where children are welcomed with joy, embraced with dignity, and reminded that they are never forgotten. As we share meals, laughter, friendship, and fellowship together, we are building more than a feeding program—we are nurturing a community where children can experience hope, connection, safety, and the love of Christ.
Every meal served is an invitation. Every smile shared is a reminder. Every child welcomed is family.

STRONG TOWER CHURCH
Since 2010, Redeeming Africa’s Hope has also partnered with and financially supported Strong Tower Church and its pastors, Joseph and Rosemary Githiomi, in Kawangware, Kenya.
The story of Strong Tower Church began long before its doors officially opened. In 1998, God gave Rosemary a dream that revealed a specific building in Kawangware that would one day become their church. Not knowing where this building was located, Joseph and Rosemary faithfully prayer-walked the streets of Kawangware, interceding for their community and trusting God to reveal His plan in His perfect timing.
In 2005, Strong Tower Church was established in the Congo district of Kawangware—an area known as one of the most impoverished, divided, and drug-influenced communities within the slum. Beginning with nothing more than a small iron-sheet structure, Strong Tower became a beacon of hope to those living in the surrounding area. Through the steadfast faith of the Githiomis and the hope found in Jesus Christ, many experienced salvation, healing, restoration, and freedom.
In 2016, God led Joseph and Rosemary into a new season of ministry, transitioning them from the Congo district into their own community within Kawangware. Throughout the years, Strong Tower's congregation has been largely filled with children, youth, and young adults from the surrounding neighborhoods. Joseph and Rosemary are lovingly known as spiritual parents within their community, faithfully shepherding, discipling, and caring for those God places in their path.
Redeeming Africa’s Hope is honored to come alongside Strong Tower Church in its mission to serve the people of Kawangware. Together, we support community outreach initiatives, discipleship efforts, weekly feeding programs through Karibu Nyumbani, blessing bag distributions, and practical support for families facing difficult circumstances.
CONGO REFORM GROUP
Congo Reformed is a group of men and women living in the Congo district of Kawangware—the very place where our founder, Laura Kirangi, received the vision for Redeeming Africa’s Hope in 2008. These individuals have chosen to walk away from lives marked by drug and alcohol addiction, crime, and hopelessness and have embraced a new path of accountability, discipleship, restoration, and community transformation.
Today, they are committed to investing in the next generation by mentoring youth, creating economic opportunities, caring for their environment, and working together to bring lasting transformation to their community. Equally important, they are committed to one another—walking in accountability, encouraging personal and spiritual growth, and supporting each other as they continue to leave behind the lifestyles they once knew. Through discipleship, friendship, and a shared desire to honor God, they are building lives marked by purpose, integrity, and hope for the future. We believe this group is a beautiful example of the very vision God spoke years ago—to "heal the land and heal the hearts." Their transformed lives are a testimony that lasting change is possible through the power of Christ, community, and purpose.
HESHIMA
Heshima, which means "Dignity" in Swahili, was founded by Eric and Tracy Hagman in 2008 with a mission to serve some of the most vulnerable and often overlooked members of society—children living with disabilities.
Located in Nairobi, Heshima provides specialized education, therapy services, medical care, access to clean water, and lifelong opportunities for children with disabilities and their families. Through their holistic approach, they work to ensure that every individual is valued, empowered, and given the opportunity to reach their God-given potential.
Since 2014, Redeeming Africa's Hope has had the privilege of introducing their international outreach teams to the incredible work being done through Heshima. What began as a ministry connection has grown into a deeply valued partnership and friendship that has strengthened over the years.
Eric and Tracy, along with Laura and Kerah, share a common belief that true transformation involves more than meeting physical needs. Together, they recognize the importance of addressing the emotional, mental, and spiritual needs of those they serve. They are united in their passion for inner healing, discipleship, and restoration, believing that every person deserves the opportunity to experience wholeness in mind, body, and spirit.
We are honored to partner with Heshima as they continue to bring dignity, hope, and opportunity to children and families throughout Nairobi, demonstrating the love of Christ through compassionate and life-changing care.
